Belgrade, Serbia: Museum of Yugoslavia

Here's something unusual - a museum honoring a country that no longer exists.

The Museum of Yugoslavia salutes the nation that was sort of put together during the 20th century. Since it was made up of several different ethnic groups, the region always seemed to be in a relatively stormy situation. The Communists managed to keep everyone together for quite a while ... by force. But the nation eventually broke into pieces.

The history of the country ran from 1918 to 1992. As is shown elsewhere, Josip Tito gets top billing for keeping things together in the second half of that run.
