Ruse, Bulgaria: Opera House

The city of Ruse has been a supporter of opera for more than 100 years. The Rousse Opera Company was founded back in 1914 - perhaps not the best of times to form a cultural organization in Europe. Then the Ruse Opera and Philhamonic Society took over the job of bringing culture to the people in 1949. 

A variety of works have been performed there, and some received their Bulgarian debuts in the facility. A good amount of regional famous artists have worked there, and some of the performances have been played on Bulgarian radio and recorded on CDs.

As for the fountains out front, they are always fun to watch.
