Arches National Park, Utah: Delicate Arch

It's wonderful that the National Park Service protects places like this. The picture is of Delicate Arch, a symbol of Arches National Park -- the greatest concentration of natural arches in the world. They are finding new ones and losing old ones each year, as the park continues to evolve.

Delicate Arch can be seen from a distance by car and a short walk, but it's much better to get some hiking shoes and make the mile trek up the mountain to actually touch it. It's a little scary in spots, at least for some, but certainly worth it.
