Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

What is it about snow and mountains? There's something about snow-covered peaks that always looks appealing.

If you like that look in a mountain, Grand Teton National Park definitely is the place to go. There is snow on the peaks almost all the time. There's also plenty of wildlife ("Say, isn't that a moose?"), hiking trails, mountain climbing and a variety of fabulous views. No wonder President Calvin Coolidge established this as a National Park in 1929.

The mountains here are some of the youngest in North America, and erosion hasn't worn them down yet. So come here and see them in the prime.

The National Park is located a little south of Yellowstone, so it's easy to visit both on the same trip. Since both are surrounded by national forests, this is one of the great open spaces on the planet.

By the way, I usually crop out the clouds from these pictures. But the ones shows above seemed to add to the shot.
