Las Vegas, Nevada: Luxor

Where's my mummy? That's one big entrance to the Luxor at the south end of the strip in Las Vegas. I think you can figure out the theme of the place.

The hotel is also well-known for a couple of other features. It is located in a 30-story pyramid, which you have to admit is a unique idea. And a powerful searchlight is used on the skies, and can be seen from quite a distance. It's fairly cheap as hotels go, although there are some extra fees charged as usual. The idea is to get you into the room.

And in the background is the Mandalay Bay, which has staged plenty of televised boxing matches over the years. The two hotels are connected.

You just don't see this stuff in other parts of the country, which is why you should visit Las Vegas even if you don't gamble.
