No, not that Stonehenge. The one in Maryhill, Washington. The one you've never heard of.
This version was put in place as a tribute to those from the area who were killed in World War I. Indeed, it was the first such memorial in the entire United States of America at that point. Construction started in 1918, and it took 11 years to finish it.
This really is in the middle of nowhere and is one odd tourist attraction. At least there is a nice view of the river.
The town burned down at some point, so this essentially is the only thing to do here. On the other hand, there's a general store nearby with friendly staffers and some unique souvenirs.
