Yes, it's a good spot. Hungarian royalty started living there in 1265. However, the current building dates back to 1769, when it was completed after 20 years of work. So it is older than the United States of America, to put things in perspective. It has gone through all sorts of problems and drama since then, especially in World War II. But it keeps getting rebuilt, and keeps looking down on the city.
With no royalty around, the building is used in other ways today. The Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest Historical Museum are there.
We need to look around.
