The Sandor Palace is the home and the office complex for the President of Hungary, and has served that function since 2003. The palace has been around for 220 years or so, as it was commissioned by Vincent Sandor in 1803. The Imperial Governor of Hungary lived in it until 1848, when the Revolution helped turn it into a government office.
Later on, the building became a casualty of World War II. It was essentially destroyed by bombing. Looters took care of the rest. It sat there until the end of the Communist era in 1989, when plans to rebuild it were formed. It took until 2002, but the building has returned to its former glory.
They open the place up sometimes on summer weekends.
