Vienna, Austria: Palmenhaus

Language lesson: This is the Palmenhaus, which as you could guess translates to Palm House and is the name of the building shown. Some call it the Glashaus, which turns into Glass House in English. As you can see, learning German is easy.

The original greenhouse went up in this spot around 1825. It lasted about 75 years, before it was torn down and the owners started over. By 1996, the place had needed some freshening, and a renovation costing 13 million Euros took place. 

The new facility opened in 1998, and a restaurant is sandwiched (sorry) between a butterfly house and a greenhouse. It's a great place to visit, but the reviews on the food and drink there are decidedly mixed at best. The video gives a look from the inside:
