The A5 road is supposed to be a good-sized road from London to Northern Wales. It does that, but it's often two lanes in country spots. Best wishes to the bus drivers on that route.
However, there is a benefit - good scenery. The A5 goes right along Llyn Ogwen in Wales. It sort of looks like one of our Finger Lakes in New York State.
Llyn Ogwen is more or less tucked in between three mountain ranges in that part of the world. The funny part is that the lake is less than 10 feet deep. I suppose you still could drown there, but maybe not too easily.
If you believe the legend, Sir Bedivere threw the sword Excalibur into Llyn Ogwen, where it was captured by the Lady of the Lake. We didn't dive in to look for it, but we did stop to take in the countryside. It's quite nice.
You can walk around the lake if you want. But be careful.
