Moab, Utah: Hole 'N' The Rock


It's one thing to say you live in a hole in the wall. It's one thing to actually do it.

The Christiansens spent 20 years digging their house out of pure sandstone, and the result is this rather odd but interesting tourist attraction. It's said to be 5,000 square feet, and has the required gift shop nearby.

Hole 'N' The Rock is located on the main road heading south out of Moab; it's about 15 miles on U.S. 191. You might have trouble convincing me to actually take the tour, but it certainly is worth a stop for a photo.
