Copenhagen, Denmark: Kastellet Fort

It is said that Denmark has been invaded more times than any other country. That may depend on your definition, but clearly a fort isn't a bad idea with that sort of history.

This is Copenhagen's fort, now more of an historical site and a park. (By the way, Kastellet translated to citadel.) It has five sides. Obviously, you can walk along the banks for a good view of the area, but visitors also can take in the buildings that are still standing ... just in case.

Technically, this is still a military area, so in case of another invasion, well, tourists may be asked to leave quickly.
