Copenhagen, Denmark: Gefion Fountain

Now here's a real statue - the biggest in Copenhagen. Anders Bundgaard must have put his other projects on hold for a while.

The fountain needed about 10 years to be finished, and it was activited around 1908. There's a mythical story depicted about how the island that Copenhagen occupies was created. Supposedly a mother turned her four sons in oxen to plow the land in a night.

Whatever. It's located near the waterfront, and used as a wishing well by many.
