Harwich, England

First things first. It looks like Harwich, but it is pronounced Har-ich. We hadn't even left the docks on our cruise (it's a port for Royal Caribbean), and I was confused.

Harwich is about two hours from London by car in the coastal northern corner of Essex, and is one of the best ports in the region. Therefore, shipping is a huge industry here. Many items pass through Harwich on their way to consumers and businesses, and many of them are from China.

This is the quaint side of the city; some of the buildings are more than 400 years old. History buffs will want to know that Christopher Jones, master of the Mayflower, was from Harwich.
