Strasbourg, France: Fontaine de Janus
The Janus gate was created to give an idea about the edge of Roman occupation in the city. The interesting part of the sculpture is that each side has its own head coming out of the water - and it's the same person, Janus.
Now in Strasbourg, calling someone "two-faced" is a compliment. It means that a person can see both sides of a situation. In this case, it can refer to the two biggest roots of the culture of the region - Roman and Germanic. It was unveiled in 2000.
