Welcome to the headquarters of the National Bank of Romania. All the big decisions are made here, such a monetary policy and exchange rates.
But it's a heck of a building too. The Palace was constructed in the 1880s, and has had some remodeling done over the years.
Eventually, the managers decided that this was too important a place to have a first floor filled with bank types. They moved them upstairs and turned the first floor into a museum. You might want to check the available hours ahead of time, since it's a bank first and a museum second.
