Construction on this project started in 1874, and it took nine years to finish it. It was designed to house the two bodies of the legislature back then. Almost 150 years later, it has the same function ... although the names have been changed. Stop if you've heard this before, but the place was rather busted up by World War II. However, the Austrians went right to work and restored its original glory.
There are more than 100 rooms in the place, which is one of the largest on the grand street that hosts it. This is where the President of Austria is sworn in - just like the way the American President takes the oath at the Capitol.
Workmen have been busy since 2018 fixing it all up. It wasn't quite done in the summer of 2023, but it was still pleasant to walk by the place. And the video gave us a clue on how it's going:
