Galapagos Islands, Equador: Pinnacle Rock

Well, this photo came out well. Be sure to click on it to see it in full size.

The pointed mountain is Pinnacle Rock, one of the most famous spots in the Galapagos Islands. It's on Bartolomé Island, overlooking Sullivan Bay. At one point, it was part of what is described as a volcanic dike that connected that spot with Santiago Island. But erosion took care of that, and now they don't touch.

Some penguins supposedly hang out around this spot, and they sometimes are joined by tourists who can't resist the chance to jump in the water - even if it can be cool.
