Biarritz, France: Rocher de la Vierge

There are religious monuments and statues all over Europe. However, they generally are in churches. The Rocher de la Vierge is different.

It's located on the waterfront. After a few feet of walking west (hidden fron view in this photo), the next stop across the Atlantic Ocean is North America. The Virgin Mary has been standing guard of Biarritz for some time. It takes a little work to get there, but there is a paved path so most shouldn't have any trouble.

My guess is that this is the most popular spot on the shore, but it's all pretty.
