St. John's, Newfoundland: "A Time" Statue

If you can't have fun on George St. in St. John's, you probably aren't trying. It's the social capital of the provincial capital, filled with pubs, restaurants and the like.

That makes it a good spot for a tribute to the entertainers who have come from Newfoundland. This is that tribute. It was done by sculptor Morgan MacDonald, and it salutes Ron Hynes, Wilf Doyle and Tommy Sexson. I can assure you that if you are from the Rock, you know the names.

"A Time" translates to a good party for those not from Newfoundland. As we know, you can't really have a party without an accordion player - and Doyle was a really good one. This helps to celebrate the designation of St. John's as a cultural capital of Canada.
