Rotorua, New Zealand: Polynesian Spa

No matter what the line might be in "Casablanca," people really do come to Rotorua for the waters.

This part of New Zealand is a geological hot spot, and there are some hot springs down by the lake near downtown Rotorua.  The Polynesian Spa jumps on that opportunity with a good-sized complex.

Europeans have been taking advantage of the warm waters since 1878. A priest supposedly was the first to try it, and found that his arthritis became much better after a few baths. The area was privately owned for a while, then purchased by the government. Now the area has been leased to a private business. Back and forth we go.

Our group had some people try the Spa out, and came back with enthusiastic reviews. This isn't for every taste, I would guess, but if you qualify you'll like it.

Let's take a look:
