Strasbourg, France: Hôtel de Hanau

The building goes all the way back to the 1730s, when it was built by the rulers of the Holy Roman Empire. The place was turned over to the state in 1790, thanks to the French Revolution. It became the City Hall for Strasbourg in 1805, and it has held that role for more than 200 years. This is not the spot where you pay your sewer taxes; that function of government is elsewhere. Instead, this is used for weddings, official receptions, etc.

By the way, this is not open to the public for the most part, except for a few holidays. So photos have to be taken outside. 

As you'd expect, some weddings are more lively than others.
