Cavendish, P.E.I.: Green Gables House

It's not certain that all of the tourists in line here have actually read "Anne of Green Gables," a popular and timeless book, but they apparently want to learn all about her.

Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote the book, based in part on her experiences when she was growing up in Prince Edward Island. This farm was owned by her grandparents' cousin. There's an audio-visual display and a visitors' center on the grounds.

By the way, Montgomery is buried relatively nearby.
