Is East Glacier really the home of the world's largest purple spoon?
Well, that's what the sign says, and who are we to disagree? But, if you find a bigger one, let us know and we'll change the name of this page.
(However, that the sign shown here has a "maybe" on it to indicate there might be a bigger purple spoon somewhere else.)
The one is called "Big Martha," and it weighs 200 pounds. It's a fine way to attract the attention of utensil-buying tourists who pass through the area. We even stopped to look through the place, although we didn't buy anything.
It's by the Spiral Spoon Shop, and - sure enough - there are all sorts of spoons on display. The big spoon goes unrepresented on YouTube, but at least the store has a video on it.
