After the trip across the lake to the farm's dock, visitors get their first look at the work farm. It's carved out of a hill, and there's not a bad view in any of the 360 degrees - either looking up at the mountains, down on the lake, and sideways on the hills. The first task is to say hello to the animals, who are quite happy to see the tourists. They know that food is coming. Who doesn't like to pet and feed sheep, farm dogs and alpacas?
After a leisurely walk through that area, guests are escorted to a restaurant for some afternoon tea and other snacks. Although the treats are fine, the view overlooking the lake is the star of the show.
Then it's back up to an amphitheater. We were introduced to a few animals, and also received a demonstration of sheep shearing. A sheepdog even did some herding on the hill in front of us. The dog wasn't perfect, so we were told not to pet him after the show. I'm not sure which side was more upset about that.
It's quite an operation, but very enjoyable.
