In this case, it's a tribute to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which is located in front of the Old Royal Palace in the middle of the central district. The memorial was opened in the early 1930s, and is guarded by the Enzones (a type of light infantry unit) of the Presidential Guard.
The ceremony takes place on the hour throughout the day. However, the biggest such celebration, and the one that attracts the most visitors, comes at 11 a.m. Let's face it - the star of the show is the shoes worn by the soldiers.
