Plymouth Notch, Vermont: Coolidge Historic Site

"Coolidge slept here" doesn't have the historical ring of "Washington slept here," but it is true. This is from Plymouth Notch, Vermont, where Coolidge was born and is buried. The beaten path doesn't come anywhere near here, which is what must have made it such a fascinating place for the summer White House during one of the years of the Coolidge Administration. By the way, it's a darn pretty drive to get there too, at least in the summer.

The Coolidge homestead is available for tours, and you can learn a lot about this American President and his family in a museum. It's a little interesting that it's a state park site rather than a federal one.
