Helsinki, Finland: Finlandia Hall

There's nothing like visiting a top attraction in a major world capital ... and discovering it is closed for renovation.

Add Finlandia Hall to my list of close facilities, which includes the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The construction started in 2022, and will continue through 2024. The building dates back to 1972, and is the site of various events and meetings. Gerald Ford popped in to the place in 1975 for a summit meeting with several world leaders. The main auditorium can be used for concerts, and there are other rooms of various sizes that serve different audiences.

The park around it, which borders on several major buildings, is pretty nice too.

Any video of the place will be outdated late in 2024. Still, let's see what it looked like.
