Barcelona, Spain: Galeria Sant Jordi

It's a little hard to guess what treasure might be behind this entrance, but it sure looks interesting.

That's because it's the Galeria Sant Jordi. This collection of art and artifacts is in a nice, old part of town. Walking through it is something of a crash course on the history of the city of Barcelona.

A report from a couple on Trip Advisor said they stopped in for a look at two paintings by two Sergio Cadenas, and had a great visit. The owner was said to be very friendly, and the rest of the place was nice.

By the way, Sant Jordi is the patron saint of Catalonia. He was said to have slayed a fierce dragon that was threatening the king's daughter. When St. George slashed the dragon with a sword, blood came spurting out, and roses came out of the liquid. Ever since then, loved ones have given roses to their partners.
