Barcelona, Spain: Barcelona Cathedral

Usually a cathedral in a European city is the biggest, grandest, oldest, and most famous church in a city. That's not true in Barcelona, but the Cathedral in that Spanish city is still quite impressive. There's not a whole lot of space in the area, and it's tough to get the entire front in a photo. But you get the idea.

It was built in the Middle Ages - 1298 to the 1400s, with most of the work coming in the middle. It was pretty much done by 1448, so the project took about 150 years. A central tower was added in 1913.

If you can, drop by the place on the day of the feast of Corpus Christi, when the tradition known as the "dancing egg" is observed. An egg is placed in a fountain on that day, and when the jet is turned on the egg rises and dances.

This video lasts only a handful of seconds - good for a quick look.
