Park Güell is up in the hills overlooking the city. This started as a housing project around 1904. A couple of houses were created to so with several other features dreamed up by Gaudi. The problem came when no one was interesting in buying the homes. So the area was turned into a park.
There are all sorts of structures, including a viaduct, and gardens here. A big open space that was supposed to be something of a village square for the self-contained unit has some nice views of the city. (A photo taken in the middle of the space is shown here.) But the highlight is that Gaudi's imagination went wild at times, coming up with a unique setting. Other buildings and features expand the experience. It's fun just to walk around. There is an admission charge for visitors, although city residents get a freebee.
This is one of those places where a dozen photos might be interesting. A video is a good substitute.
