Alliance, Nebraska: Carhenge

Carhenge?

No doubt, this is one unconventional tourist attraction.

Jim Reinders came up with the idea to make a tribute to his father. It's based on the English original, except that the stones have been replaced by big old American cars. There are some other metal sculptures on the grounds too.

Carhenge has somehow caught on a bit, as it is listed in Nebraska's official state tourism guides. There is a little visitor center that serves snacks and sells some souvenirs. How could you go and not buy a couple of post cards?
