Quebec, Quebec: Chateau Frontenac

They don't make hotels like this any more. The Chateau Frontenac stands majestically over the St. Lawrence River, looking like some sort of castle. It's right in the middle of Old Quebec, so it's a perfect place to stay for a visit.

Anyone who's anyone has stayed here while visiting Quebec. The list includes Ronald Reagan, Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and some Canadian prime ministers. It was named after the Count of Frontenac (Louis de Buade), who led New France from 1672 to 1698.
