Frankfurt, Germany: Marshall Fountain

You learn a lot researching this sort of blog. For example, this looked like a basic quirky sculpture.

No, it's a tribute to George Marshall. You know, the Marshall Plan's Marshall - who lent such a hand from the United States to Germany during the rebuilding process after World War II.

The three bronze water nymphs supposedly have something to do with a Goethe novel. I'll take the experts' word on that. But it's a nice little area for a rest, located fairly close to the Opera House.
