Boy, this statue in the middle of a Frankfurt park has me confused.
George Kolbe worked on it around the time of World War II, and it was unveiled shortly after that. The problem is that I've seen two different descriptions of what is shown.
One has Beethoven himself in the middle, while another has Goethe in the middle with the statue merely being dedicated to Beethoven ("Dem Genius Beethoven.")
I'll let you flip a coin on this one.
