Atlanta, Georgia: Bank of America Plaza

Walk around downtown Atlanta for a while, and you are bound to come up with a question: What's the story about that really tall skyscraper?

That's the Bank of America Plaza, and it checks in at an impressive 55 stories. It's been around since 1992, when it was NationsBank Plaza. Over the years, there have been the usual mergers and sales, so we're now in the Bank of America phase. 

It's tough to know where this structure ranks nationally and/or globally. They keep building new ones. But this building is the biggest structure in the state of Georgia - actually, in the entire Southeast. If you want true trivia, it's the tallest building in any state capitol in the United States. I might have guessed Boston, and I'd have been wrong.
