Bilbao, Spain: Biscay Foral Delegation Palace

Here's a building that jumps out at the passer-by, even if he or she has no idea what it is. Some investigation reveals that it is the Biscay Foral Delegation Palace. The translation to English, so to speak, is that it is the home of the executive branch of the regional government - Biscay or Basque, depending on your spelling.

The locals call it the Foral Palace; good idea. It went up in the 1890s on a lovely street in Bilbao. I'm told the Throne Room, with a couple of large art pieces is a highlight of the building. I'm also told that the hours that the building is open for business is limited and changes frequently. Well, you can't see everything.

By the way, the official library is right around the back for those who need to do a little research.
