Don't be fooled. This is the Bute House, and it's the official residence and workplace of the First Minister of Scotland. The job is similar to that of a Prime Minster, except that Scotland takes some orders from London in government affairs. All of the First Ministers have worked out of that office since 1999. The Secretary of State was there before that.
This goes four stories high, and the middle two are reserved as a private residence. But floors one and four are reserved for government business, including news conferences and Cabinet meetings.
