The clipper ship Cutty Sark has quite a history. It was built in 1869 and was considered state of the art when it came to tea clippers. The Cutty Sark had a nice run for a while, setting records for speed. However, the era of the steamship was right around the corner. Speed is relative, and the boat was essentially left behind.
The Cutty Sark was still used for cargo for several years, and then wound up in a nautical college for training purposes. Then it was out of the water in 1954, and has been in dry dock just off the coast along the waterfront in Greenwich.
