Melbourne, Australia: Hosier Lane

Some of the world's cities have a problem with graffiti. A few sections of those same places encourage it.

Such is the case with Hosier Lane in Melbourne. Not only do they not mind if you mark up some buildings, they have turned it into a tourist attraction.

This section of town has a few blocks that are designated for street art, and  Hosier Lane is in the middle of it. People are welcome to grab a paint brush and get to work whenever they'd like. That means that not only is the view always changing, but that the paint is about two inches thick. After all, the process has been going on since the 1990s, inspired by graffiti in New York City from the 1970s on.

And if you don't like what's on the walls today, don't worry. Come back in a while and it will be different.
