Or you can hop on a gondola and go for a ride above the tress. It might not be as authentic as the slow walk, but it sure is easier.
This "ride" goes for almost five miles through the Barron Gorge National Park. The rain forest is the world's oldest, even more ancient than the one in the Amazon. This was the longest gondola ride in the world when it was completed in 1995.
There are a couple of stops along the way. Visitors are welcome to get out and take a walk through the rain forest on "sidewalks." As you might expect, the views are good - but so are the ones from the gondolas as they skim above it all.
If you want another way to make the trip, there is a train on a similar path. My guess is that this is better. Sometimes the lines can be a bit long. So either be prepared for some waits to board, or get there early. It's all worth it.
