St. Mark's Church is one of the oldest buildings in Zagreb. It was built sometime in the 1200s, although it went through some major changes in the late 1300s. A couple of coats of arms is depicted on the roof - one for Zagreb and the other for the region (Croatia, Slavonia and Damatia), The idea dates back to 1499, although the original Zagreb display is kept in the City Museum.
The structure suffered some damage in 2020, and it took three years to get everything fixed. Now things are normal, and it's business as usual. It's right in the middle of the main government district, and the building still hosts meetings of the City Council.
