Key West, Florida: U.S. #1 Start/End

If you like maps, it's not difficult to be somewhat fascinated by old U.S. highway number 1. It goes from the top of Maine down the East Coast all the way down to Key West. The Keys' portion is the most interesting part, because the road jumps from key to key on a series of bridges.

Finally, the road ends on the last street of Key West before the ocean. There is the traditional "U.S. 1 ends" sign, worth a photo, but this sign is across the street in a small park and seemed more dramatic for inclusion here.

Of course, it's also the start of U.S. 1, going the other way. I'll have to see the other end in Northern Maine some day.
