It seems that the Norwegian Fishermen's Sales Organization had a problem. Its building was a mess, and badly needed an overhaul. Designers went to work, highlighted by some sheet metal on the outside. A nautical design was added and ... presto!
It's located right in the middle of the city, and welcomes tourists who arrive by ship. The building is much more energy efficient than its predecessor, and a lot better looking too.
Needless to say, this was not the story I expected when I researched this building's use. Consider this a salute to the Norwegian Fishermen's Sales Organization for helping to make downtown Svolaer a more interesting place.
