Trondheim, Norway: Art Museum

When visiting the Nadaros Cathedral in Trondheim - which every tourist in the neighborhood does, I suppose - another attraction lurks nearby. It's the Trondheim Art Museum, and it's one of the biggest in Norway.

The idea for such a place started in 1864, and to this day it stresses regional art from before 1850. This building dates back to around 1930, while other pieces exist in a second building.

This is all well and good, of course, but I probably wouldn't have included this entry had it not been for the statue in the front. Be sure to click on the photo to expand the shot.
