For example, this is where Opera Australia might perform. Or the ballet. Or a theater company. Or a symphony orchestra. Or a dance troupe. Get the idea? There are a variety of venues inside this building, so a great deal can be going on at a given time.
I didn't really get a good look at the spire that holds the building together, architecturally speaking. It's supposed to resemble a dancer's tutu. Sir Roy Grounds came up with the design in 1960, but it took until 1973 to start construction. This wasn't an easy project, thanks to an odd lot of property and a very high water table. But it was finished in 1984. Massive upgrades to the structure have been planned; we'll see how long it take to reach 10 figures in fundraising to start it.
